The Woodland Pollinator Garden is under way. Donations from local businesses, a grant from Evonik Corporation and a grant from SIA Foundation helped fund the project. Jill Shambach and her third grade students planted native plants which will attract and sustain pollinators. Teachers will be able to utilize additional garden space to provide authentic learning experiences for the students. Shambach plans to complete this project in time for the new school year so students and teachers can take advantage of the outdoor classroom space and get into the garden where they will learn about plants, soil and pollinators, as well as study bird varieties.
All donations and volunteer support will be recognized at the completion of the project.
